i have 2 voiceover projects to record and send out. i get to be an elf and a
jawa. neat. one is really long, the other pretty short. didn't get to work on
Davey's manuscript at all in Branson, so gotta get cracking on that. here's an
odd coincidence - one of my older cousins is named David. he's in grad school.
for poetry. he's a writer, and would like (from what i gather) to be a
novelist, but has had more success with poetry so far. weird, that...
and
i've now been recruited to sing in my mother's Christmas cantata by Mom and Bob,
since all their first sopranos are apparently nice old ladies with nice old lady
wavery voices. so they need a stronger first Sop, to carry that section, and
apparently they think i'm it. we'll see. i haven't sung seriously in years,
and i don't even know if i've still got my upper range at all. guess i'll find
out soon since they want me to come down and rehearse with them tomorrow, i
think. guess i better get cracking on that practice CD and the libretto,
too.... gonna be a busy girl for a few weeks!
i am having a very hard time getting mp3 files uploaded into my library here. at first i would get an error message saying that file type "name of file" could not be uploaded. note, it did not cite the actual file extension as the file type, but the file's name instead. which made no sense. now the error comes back saying they cannot accept the file. with no reason as to why. they are under 25mb, which i see is a new specification on the upload popup window.
so, i'm going to try to attach a file to this entry, instead, as an experiment.
nope, still can't upload. vox, why do you hate me??
i cannot get Audacity to run on my main pc. i've completely uninstalled and reinstalled two different versions, both with and without the LAME encoder sitting in the program's directory. i double-click to open it, the window pops up, i can see the menu bar across the top and the menu items, but the window doesn't fully load - graphics are not loading, so it looks oddly "blank", and i can't click anything inside the window. the mouse pointer changes to an hourglass if i put it inside that window. if i right-click on the program's entry in my task bar, i can't even choose "Close", or any other option for that matter. i've left it sitting for an hour, with no change. hard drive is not spinning. only way i can close it is through task manager.
so, right now my only option is Total Recorder. the folks i have recorded for in the past don't seem to like it. so, any other suggestions?
also, i need to come up with a description of my voice for my bio on a casting site. i have no idea what to say. thoughts?
thanks...
